Hey guys and gals,
Wt Prater here. Just updating ya'll on something that is important to me. Approximately eight hours from now I will be walking/ running 3.1 miles for the charity Nashville Cares. Now I don't know my body won't sleep, it could I'm nervous or energetic or just anxious over other things, but it struck that that is how life is. There is always something more important, more emotional, or more pressing in life. But this time, there isn't. This is a matter of life or death. Maybe not to me at this point. But to someone to needs education about HIV/AIDS and receives that from Nashville Cares. Or maybe someone out there about to have sex with condoms they got from Nashville Cares. Or most importantly, someone who couldn't afford their medicine that Nashville Cares helped. I know there are a lot of organizations that you support, and every one of them is important. Just keep Nashville Cares in your thoughts and in your budget when you're thinking about what affects you and your loved ones the most. Thank you so much for all of you who have sponsored me thus far, helping restore my faith in giving. So thank you to . . . Dennis and Dawn Pozzi, Ramona Richards, Tara Lain, Hani Steele, J P Barnaby, Karen Candido-Johnson, Kathy Kozakewich, Ms FairyTat, Kristi Riftin, Allison Cassatta, Hani Stelle and Rowan Speedwell and anonymous. Becuase of all of you, I have got so much closer to my aspiration. I'm hoping this letter will reach each of you, and you will understand how special you are to me. And for anyone who haven't given there, there is still time. GO RIGHT NOW! Thanks for your help, know karma is coming your way, and so are my thoughts and blessings! ---Wt Prater

My TV "Wish to Watch" List
For a long time, I have avoided watching TV, except with my family on Sunday nights. I have a few friends in Lebanon who have gathered together every week to "catch up" and watch whatever the majority of us were interested in. So we watched things like Glee, The Glee Project, Spartacus, True Blood, 1 Girl 5 Gays, Girls, Political Animals, Game of Thrones, and The Newsroom. I loved the fact that these shows created conversations, helped us as a family bond together. Even if someone fell asleep (mostly me I admit), we were still together, cocooned in each other's affection. This shows and a few shared movies helped us come together. I grew up thinking that watching TV was a solitary event, that it was a way to get away. It was a way to escape the unbearable reality of reality. So when I make the decision to become more socialable, I gave up TV. And for a couple years, I did not watch it at all. And while I'm glad I took that time away, I am glad that I am starting to learn balance. I really enjoy watching some shows by myself, but moreover I love watching shows that I can use to start a discussion.
So now that I have cable again, I've been exploring everything I'm switchly interested in. I watched Boss, and was not a big fan.I watched Games of thrones, and was bored. I have also learned I am a big fan of great dialogue, which is why I love Spartacus and Bunheads. I also love plots twists and turns which is why I love Once Upon a Time. I tried to watch Grimm, but I found I didn't relate or care about the characters, and I think the same is happening with The Vampire Diaries. My two favorite TV writers right now are Ryan Murphy, which is why Glee, American Horror Story, and The New Normal are all on my watching list; and I love Shonda Rhimes, who created Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. I am currently watching Switched at Birth, and am getting sorta addicted. So, right now my TV "wish to watch" schedule is . . .
Switched at Birth Season 1 Sept 3rd
A New Normal Sept 11th
Glee Season 4 Sept 13th
Smash Season 2 Sept 17th

Another Flash FIction Friday (Details Here) !!!
I'm declaring yet another Flash Fiction Friday on my blog. The idea is simple.
. . I will give you the title/theme . . . You will write a story 100 words long
(no more, no less) . . . and then we'll let the audience decide who best
captured the title/theme. And guess what? There is a prize, other then maybe
self-discipline and a seed for a new story, or stories. Who wants to challenge
themselves and others?
The theme will be announced be announced Thursday around 4pm and ANYONE can enter a story until around 5 pm Central Time Friday. You can enter by writing a story the length stated above and emailing that story to wtprater.jwasg@yahoo.com by 5 pm Central Time Friday. I will then post all the entries on the my blog Friday evening. Ask your friends and family to come read all the entries, and vote for the best one by leaving comments (Only one vote per comment, please) . I will go through the comments and post the winner Saturday afternoon. I reserve the right to bring in other off-line judges if there are not enough comments.
****One entry per author, please****
**** Warning: If your entry is less or more than 100 words (hyphenated words are counted separately), it will not be posted. PERIOD. And I will deal with spacing issues, but otherwise, I will not edit or correct spelling or grammar. ****
And this week's prizes:
A hand knitted scarf of purple yarn (knitted by yours personally)!
This week's theme is : What a Twisted Memory I have . . .
Two MUSTS for this one: It must be based on a real memory AND there must be a twist.THESE ELEMENTS MUST BE PRESENT IN ALL ENTRIES!!! Just remember 100 words exactly. Have fun and get to writing!
My Example:
The old building stood before us, as we took the campus tour. It had been gutted and empty, and waited to be reconstructed as a more current structure of itself.
That felt a lot like my life, on my own for the first time.
I was shocked to find someone in my group that went to my high school. He was one of the boys that tormented me for being out. Completely straight, and homophobic.
Until less than a month later, we found a way into that empty building, and he had me pinned to the ground, sucking my cock.
SO YOU'RE ENTERING . . . Thanks! And some last minute helpful tips!
